MGM Financial Services (Rathfarnham) are a small close-knit team who work closely with our clients and their families. If you join us as an apprentice, you’ll be joining a financial planning advisory firm who work with all the providers in the marketplace to find client focused solutions. As it’s a small team you’ll be exposed to everything from administration to website maintenance and how to put together a financial plan.

You’ll be exposed to changes and developments in the marketplace and will have a dedicated mentor to help you upskill on the job as you go through the programme. There will be a very hands-on approach to learning through experience and by the end of the programme not alone will you be well qualified, but you’ll also have a wealth of experience under your belt.

 

The 3-year Apprenticeship Programme

The Insurance Practitioner Apprenticeship is an ‘earn and learn’ degree programme, combining on-the-job training with academic study. The three-year programme leads to the APA and QFA qualifications and a BA honours degree in business and insurance which will allow you to hit the ground running early in your career. You will develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours necessary for a successful career in the financial services profession and beyond.

Year 1

While you’re learning the ropes on-the-job, you’ll also be studying a wide range of insurance and business-related modules including professional business communication, teamwork and workplace collaboration, and selling and customer service for insurance.

Qualification: Accredited Product Advisor (APA Life & Loans)

Year 2

Once you’re settled into your role, you will start to specialise more with regards your technical insurance modules and be learning more around wider business concepts including marketing principles, service development, E-business and innovation, and negotiation in practice.

Qualification: Certificate in Professional Financial Advice (QFA)

Year 3

Once you’re settled into your role, you will start to specialise more with regards your technical insurance modules and be learning more around wider business concepts including marketing principles, service development, E-business and innovation, and negotiation in practice.

Qualification: BA (Hons) in Insurance Practice

  • Take ownership & accountability for your actions and responsibilities.
  • Ready to be part of a small close-knit team

Minimum Entry Level Requirements:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Mature students – if over 23 years there are no minimum educational requirements - documented interview required
  • FETAC Level 5 qualification holders*
  • Between 18 and under 23 years – Leaving certificate, minimum of 160 points to include two honours in higher level paper and passes in Maths and English/Irish with specific requirements on grades/levels*
