About the Job Role:

Insurance administrator

The role will be based in our office in Limerick but will also incorporate working from home as the pandemic requires.  The role will involve achieving new and existing business goals and supporting your mentor and the rest of the team in providing a high-quality service to clients. As an apprentice, you will gain in-depth knowledge of risks and the insurance market in order to arrange suitable policies & cover for your clients. You will learn how to be an effective intermediary between our clients and insurance companies.

 

What this role entails:

  • Contributing to a positive culture of teamwork, flexibility, learning and development
  • Managing workloads to provide good service in a busy environment
  • Driving performance with the ability to work closely with team leaders and staff
  • Building strong relationships with the team and with clients when needed
  • Supporting our strategy and values within the team
  • Finding solutions to difficult and challenging situations
  • Interacting with insurers
  • Gather information from your clients, assessing their insurance needs and risk profile.
  • Dealing with clients over the phone
  • research insurance companies' policies and negotiate with underwriters to find the most suitable insurance for your clients at the best price;
  • Help with social media campaigns, general office work, call clients to see if they are interested in cross-selling opportunities.
  • keep detailed records and complete administrative tasks such as paperwork and correspondence;
  • develop relationships with underwriters, insurers and other office staff

 

About You:

About the Job Role

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Setting up new pension products (Small Self-Administered Pension Schemes, Approved (Minimum) Retirement Funds, Personal Retirement Bonds, Personal Retirement Savings Accounts)
  • Acting as administrator and point of contact for pre and post-retirement plans
  • Communicating with brokers and liaising with investment managers, insurances companies etc. in a professional and proactive manner
  • Creation of records for all new clients on the relevant systems, and maintenance and updating of existing client records
  • Issuing New Business documentation
  • Ensuring agreed procedures are followed within the team
  • Processing new business and existing business enquiries
  • Working closely with and supporting other team members as required
  • Ad hoc duties as directed by the manager / senior members of staff
  • Answering phone, filing, and general office duties
  • Providing reception cover as required
  • Full training will be provided to develop your pensions knowledge.

 

About You

  • Ideally, you will have a minimum of 1 years experience in an office environment/Financial Services Industry, however, experience is not essential.

About the role

Specific responsibilities:

  • gather information from your clients, assessing their insurance needs and risk profile;
  • research insurance companies' policies and negotiate with underwriters to find the most suitable insurance for your clients at the best price;
  • ensure that your clients understand the terms and the extent of the cover provided in line with industry regulations;
  • foresee your clients' insurance needs, such as policy renewals or amendments;
  • advise your clients on whether and when they need to make a claim on their policies
  • arrange specialised types of insurance cover in complex cases; this may involve preparing reports for insurance underwriters and surveyors and negotiating with insurers;
  • build and maintain ongoing relationships with your clients;
  • keep detailed records and complete administrative tasks such as paperwork and correspondence;
  • develop relationships with underwriters, surveyors, structural engineers and other professionals;
  • keep up with changes in the insurance market and in your clients' industries;
