Financial Advisor Role

As an apprentice, you will gain in-depth knowledge of the Banking, Financial and Insurance market, which will eventually allow you to complete full reviews , recommendations and arrange suitable facilities, policies & cover for your clients. You will learn how to be an effective intermediary between our clients and Banks, Insurance companies etc. 

Responsibilities of Financial Advisor:

  • gather information from your clients, assessing their financial needs and risk profile.
  • research Banks, Insurance companies' policies and negotiate with underwriters to find the most suitable facilities & policies for your clients, whilst being mindful of cost.
  • ensure that your clients understand the terms and the extent of the facility & cover provided in line with industry regulations.
  • foresee your clients' Financial, such as Children’s Education, Mortgage, Pension.
  • advise your clients on whether and when they need to make a claim on their policies.
  • arrange specialised types of insurance cover in complex cases; this may involve preparing reports for insurance underwriters and negotiating with insurers.

About the Apprentice programme:

We are looking for an ambitious and talented individual who shows the potential to develop into a high performing business professional. About the Job Role:

  • gather information from clients, assessing their insurance needs and risk profile;
  • research insurance companies' policies and negotiate with underwriters to find the most suitable insurance for your clients at the best price;
  • ensure that your clients understand the terms and the extent of the cover provided in line with industry regulations;
  • build and maintain ongoing relationships with your clients;
  • keep detailed records and complete administrative tasks such as paperwork and correspondence;

About the Apprentice Programme

The Insurance Practitioner Apprenticeship is an “earn and learn” degree programme that combines on-the-job training with academic study. You will earn a salary while studying for your degree and your degree training will be fully government-funded.

Developed by the Insurance Institute of Ireland in association with the LIA, the apprenticeship is a three-year degree programme leading to a BA (Hons) in Insurance Practice. The programme also incorporates the Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA) accreditation and is awarded by the Institute of Technology, Sligo.

We are looking for an ambitious and talented individual who has the potential to develop into a high performing pensions professional. The opportunity is a three-year fixed-term contract, which provides exposure to all aspects of our business, allowing you to develop strong technical expertise in pensions, insurance and financial services. Typically, you will work four days and dedicate the fifth to study, through distance learning.

The Apprenticeship will ideally appeal to school leavers, graduates and career changers.

 

The Role 

Our programme will provide a number of rotations to facilitate a broad and in-depth pensions learning experience across the Company.

The Opportunity
