About the Role
JDM Insurance Services is an established independent insurance broker providing tailored insurance solutions to individuals and businesses across Ireland. We are now seeking an Insurance Apprentice to join our team as part of the national Insurance Practitioner Apprenticeship programme.
This is an excellent opportunity for a school leaver or career changer to build a long-term career in insurance while earning a salary and working towards a Level 8 Honours Degree in Insurance Practice, alongside industry-recognised professional qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with policy administration, renewals, and mid-term adjustments
- Supporting Account Executives and Account Handlers on client files
- Liaising with insurers and underwriters to obtain quotations and documentation
- Maintaining accurate client and policy records in line with regulatory requirements
- Providing a high standard of customer service to clients
- Completing academic and professional study requirements as part of the apprenticeship programme
The Apprenticeship
This role is offered in conjunction with the Insurance Practitioner Apprenticeship, a three-year, earn-while-you-learn programme leading to:
- BA (Hons) in Insurance Practice (QQI Level 8)
- Professional qualifications such as APA / CIP / QFA (role dependent)
Student registration fees to ATU Sligo will be funded by company
What We’re Looking For
- Leaving Certificate (or equivalent) with Maths and English (or Irish)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good attention to detail and organisational ability
- A genuine interest in developing a career in insurance
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- No prior insurance experience required

Minimum Entry Level Requirements:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Mature students – if over 23 years there are no minimum educational requirements - documented interview required
- FETAC Level 5 qualification holders
- Between 18 and under 23 years – Leaving certificate, minimum of 160 points to include two honours in higher level paper and passes in Maths and English/Irish with specific requirements on grades/levels
