We are currently recruiting for a position in our Cork office at Phoenix House, Monahan Road, Cork. This role involves providing key support to our growing team of Certified Financial Planners.

About the Apprentice programme

We are looking for an ambitious and talented individual(s) who shows the potential to develop into a high performing business professional. This opportunity is a three-year fixed term contract apprentice scheme that provides exposure to all aspects of our business, allowing you to develop your technical expertise as well as professional skills.

While on the programme, in addition to gaining on the job insurance experience, you will complete the insurance industry professional qualifications APA and QFA as well as a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Insurance Practice (Apprenticeship) which is Level 8 on the NFQ awarded by Atlantic Technological University.

When you join Infinity Financial Planning, you will receive a tailored induction and will be assigned a business supervisor and mentor to provide support throughout the scheme.

About the Apprentice Role and Responsibilities

  • Develop relevant IT skills on the systems used in-house.
  • Creation of records for all new clients on the relevant systems, and maintenance and updating of existing client records.  
  • Communicating with clients keeping them up to date on the status of their applications.  
  • Providing support to the sales team as required. 
  • Dealing with queries by phone and email in an efficient and timely manner. 
  • Assist with the processing of onboarding client’s and all documentation.
  • Communicating with insurances companies etc. in a professional and proactive manner. 
  • Processing and Issuing New Business documentation. Ensuring agreed procedures are followed within the team. 
  • Processing new business and existing business enquiries. 
  • Working closely with and supporting other team members as required. 
  • Ensuring all files are fully compliant as per Central Bank & Internal procedures.  
  • Learn the key aspects of the Consumer Protection Code and Central Bank Compliance requirements.
  • Acquire knowledge on financial services providers and learn about maintaining key relationships with them.
  • Help to provide an efficient, professional service to meet all client needs.
  • Maintenance of accurate and up to date scheme records.
  • Preparation of individual calculations and benefit statements.
  • Deal with queries and requests using standard letters.
  • Monitor own workflow to ensure service levels are achieved.
  • Adhere to the Company’s compliance as outlined in staff handbook and procedures manual.


About You

You are expected to be;

  • Focused, diligent & be committed to work and studying for a level 8 education programme at the same time.Able to communicate effectively (in both written and verbal form).
  • Willing to be part of a team.
  • Have attention to detail and time management.
  • Can manage own workload and be extremely computer literate.
  • Aptitude to make real time decisions based on changing information

Minimum Entry Level Requirements

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Mature students – if over 23 years there are no minimum educational requirements -  documented interview required
  • FETAC Level 5 qualification holders*
  • Between 18 and under 23 years – Leaving certificate, minimum of 240 points to include two honours in higher level paper and passes in Maths and English/Irish with specific requirements on grades/levels*
